About Jess

Jess Anstey brings a lifetime of creativity to her eponymously named brand, Jessica Anstey Designs.

As the daughter of two very creative parents - her mother made wedding dresses and her father was a calligrapher - Jess was fascinated by fabric and design from a very young age and it was no surprise when she went on to study fashion at art college in Cheltenham.

Jess worked extensively in lingerie design and after a career break to bring up a family,  she returned to fashion and her love of textiles, founding Jessica Anstey Designs.

Being based in the heart of the Cotswolds, with Cheltenham racecourse and its annual Cheltenham Festival on the doorstep, Jess weaves her love of the countryside and this culture into her work.

Jess draws her inspiration from the fashion of past decades, particularly the classically chic looks of the 30s and 40s.  She also takes huge influence from the natural world and the changing of the seasons.  Fusing this inspiration with her innate understanding of her craft, Jess creates hats and accessories which offer glamour and elegance for any occasion.

Jess is absolutely meticulous with detail, only selecting threads and choosing stitching which perfectly complement the fabrics and designs.

About Us

Using only quality fabrics and adornments, such as Harris Tweeds, silk velvets, luxury faux furs and Swarovski crystals, Jess Anstey designs and crafts uniquely beautiful pieces that make the wearer feel truly special with every wear.

Here at Jessica Anstey Designs, we love to work collaboratively with clients through our Bespoke Atelier service.

Whether you are the mother of the bride, a wedding guest, race-goer, or are attending a garden party or christening, we can create a bespoke design for your special occasion.

Jess also loves to create casual hats to suit the seasons, such as berets, tweed or faux fur hats for winter, and summer hats for the warmer months.   A bespoke Jessica Anstey design isn’t just to be reserved for special occasions.

Whatever the occasion, when Jess designs a piece, a couture experience is delivered for every client.

During a one-to-one appointment, you can browse the showroom of sample hats (also available for hire) and we can talk about a style that suits you, your outfit and where it will be worn, whether that is a day at the races, a country wedding, or a Royal garden party.

During the design process, Jess will liaise with you at every step to ensure she has fully understood your needs and is creating the perfect design for you. You can also be sure that your piece is being handcrafted to exceptional standards, using only the very finest, quality materials.

Have no doubt, that when you arrive at that wedding, race day, or family celebration, you know you will be wearing a truly unique piece, that perfectly complements you and your outfit, so you can relax and enjoy your day.

Here at Jessica Anstey Designs, we love to build relationships with our clients, and many ask us to design pieces for a number of occasions.

Our Team

All our hats and accessories which include scarves, cuffs and wraps are made in our studio in Gloucestershire.

So as a team we work together from start to finish selecting colours, fabrics and trims to bring you the very best of our collections. We are a closely knit team living only few miles apart and have worked together for over 5 years, building friendships as well as trust.

My team have never let me down and go that extra mile to ensure the finish of all our products are made to its highest quality for you to enjoy wearing for years to come.

The knowledge of the Jessica Anstey Designs team is so valuable, and important when working with delicate fabrics such as silk velvets, Harris tweeds and silk dupions which require a couture finish to show their true beauty.

When buying any of our pieces, we want you to be able to wear them again and again adding an individual look to your wardrobe.

We are sustainable and ethical in our production and processes here at Jessica Anstey Designs.  We champion British suppliers and producers and are also constantly looking to continue minimising our environmental impact.
